The Islamabad Declaration

The problem

Doctors spend their lives caring for others. It’s okay to let someone care for you.

The demands of medicine can follow you home — affecting sleep, relationships, and health. And because doctors are expected to be strong, asking for help can feel difficult.

You don’t need to wait until things become unbearable.

About us

About Healing the Healers

Healing the Healers is a wellbeing initiative — a project of Alfalah Foundation Pakistan — dedicated to supporting doctors and members of the medical community.

Our purpose: to make it easier for doctors to seek support when they need it.

A healthier medical community begins with recognising that doctors are human too — they experience stress, loss, and uncertainty, and they deserve support.

Our vision

A medical community in Pakistan where seeking help is a strength, and no doctor feels they have to suffer silently.

Our mission

To create an accessible, compassionate, and trusted platform through which doctors can find pathways toward appropriate wellbeing support.

You spend your life caring for others.

It’s okay to let someone care for you.

Whether you’re a medical student, house officer, or senior consultant, you deserve a space where you can be heard. You don’t have to wait for a crisis, and you don’t have to carry everything alone.
