  1. Recognition as a Policy Priority

Recognize the wellbeing of medical professionals as a national and provincial health policy priority with clear inclusion in health, planning, institutional governance and quality improvements.

  2. Safe and Respectful Workplaces

Ensure healthcare professionals are safe, dignified, and free from violence, harassment, bullying, intimidation, discrimination, and unlawful pressure.

  3. Medico-Legal Protection

Strengthen medico-legal protection through clear protocols, fair inquiry systems, institutional legal support, timely reporting mechanism, and protection from mob pressure or media trial.

  4. Mental Health and Wellbeing Services

Establish confidential mental health support, counseling services, peer support systems, stress management programs, and burnout prevention initiatives within healthcare institutions.

  5. Gender-Sensitive Workplaces

Implement gender-sensitive workplace policies, including protection from harassment, maternity and childcare support, safe duty environments, equal professional opportunities, and leadership inclusion for women in healthcare.

  6. Improved Working Conditions

Promote humane duty hours, adequate staffing, proper rest areas, transparent duty rosters, safe night-duty arrangements, and access to basic workplace facilities.

  7. Patient Safety Linkage

Formally recognize that the wellbeing of medical professionals is directly linked with patient safety, quality of care, clinical decision-making, communication, and public trust.

  8. Institutional Wellbeing Committees

Establish hospital-level wellbeing and workplace safety committees with representation from clinicians, nurses, administration, legal experts, mental health professionals, and human resource departments.

  9. Public Awareness and Media Responsibility

Launch awareness campaigns promoting respect for healthcare workers, responsible conduct in hospitals, and balanced media reporting on healthcare-related incidents.

  10. Monitoring and Follow-Up

Create a multi-stakeholder working group to prepare an implementation roadmap, monitor progress, and submit a follow-up report within six months of the conference.
